Presenting yourself with confidence is about more than just the clothes you wear. It’s about how you feel about yourself on the inside. We all know women who can ‘look good in anything.’ These women ooze confidence, are always comfortable with their appearance and simply glow.
I’m here to tell you, the only difference between you and that woman is knowledge!
Take a moment to think about the relationship you have right now with your body, your clothes, your wardrobe. Is it a love/hate relationship where sometimes you get it right and walk out the door with your head held high and yet other times you spend half an hour trying on different outfits and end up feeling frustrated that nothing works?
Perhaps you dread the thought of being invited to an event, or asked to do a presentation as it will mean shopping for something new. Just the thought can bring on a panic attack. You might try and resurrect an old favourite that seems to work only to feel less than your shiny self all night. And I haven’t even begun to talk about how you feel about your hair, makeup, shoes and accessories!
If you’re constantly worrying about what you are going to wear, or how you look to others, that creates a lot of unnecessary pressure, stress and anxiety. Not to mention all the time wasted in sifting through clothes or standing in front of the mirror. Wouldn’t you rather spend that time doing something way more productive or enjoyable?
Maybe your relationship with your clothes and wardrobe isn’t so bad. It’s more what’s underneath that you’re unhappy with. Clothes may have become your best friend as you’ve come to rely on them to cover up all the bits you don’t like. But somewhere deep down you know that’s no way for a powerful, passionate, successful woman to live. Would you love to feel comfortable in your body, no matter what size or shape it is?
How much better would life be if you could stop worrying about your body, or what to wear, or what suits you and just feel confident and amazing every day? Then you could show the world the real you… the best you!
For centuries women have been subjected to constant bombardment of how we ‘should’ look, what we should and shouldn’t wear and how we should or shouldn’t act. You’re too fat, too thin, too confident, too shy, too tall, too short, too dressy, too colorful, too plain, too risqué, too conservative, too this or too that. Talk about pressure to fit some sort of perfect mold.
